General Information

  1. All students must take 120 credit hours of a foreign language before successfully completing their programme of study. 
  2. Foreign language courses are incorporated in the model curriculum of studies for semesters 2, 3, 4 and 5 (Polish students) and semesters 1,2, 4,5 (International students).  
  3. All students (both Polish and International) admitted to the Faculty must pass the English exam at C1 Academic level before successfully completing their study programme.

Detailed rules and guidelines for students

Sem 1
(0 - 30 h)
International students  are required to  take a 30-hour course of PolishRegistration online according to the instructions available on www.sjo.pw.edu.pl   (click : Polish for Foreigners)
or in person with Ms Marta Szpak, MA  during her office hours.
Other first-semester students are not required to attend foreign language courses.
Sem 2
(30 h)
Polish Students with recognized language certificates:
IELTS –7.5

TOEFL – 110-120

C2

C1 – A grade
C2 level English course or another language course to be continued until all the remaining free credit hours have been used.
Other Polish Students are  required to take the placement testA course in Academic English at C1 level, including academic writing.
Allocation to groups is based on the placement test results.
Students earn credits for course completion.
International students continue their course of Polish
Other second-semester students  have no  foreign language classes.
Sem 3
(30 h)
Polish Students that still have not passed their C1 Academic examA course  in English for Academic Purposes level C1
