General Information

  1. All students must take 180 credit hours of a foreign language before successfully completing their programme of study. This can be accomplished by choosing either 30 or 60-hour courses per semester.
  2. Foreign language courses are incorporated in the model curriculum of studies for semesters 3, 4 and 5.  Students, however, may choose to attend a language course in any semester, from semester 1 onwards.
  3. International students may choose courses of Polish or of any other foreign language.
  4. Polish students may also choose courses in foreign languages other than English.5) All students (both Polish and International) admitted to the Faculty must pass the English exam at C1 Academic level  before successfully completing their study programme

Sem 1

International students  are recommended  to  take a 30-hour course of PolishRegistration online according to the instructions available on www.sjo.pw.edu.pl   (click : Polish for Foreigners)
or in person with Ms Marta Szpak, MA  during her office hours.
Students earn credits for course completion.
Polish students are not required to attend foreign language courses.
Sem 3
(60 h)
All students are  required to take the placement 
testStudents that have not passed their C1 examA course in Academic English at C1 level.
 Allocation to groups is based on the placement test results.
Students earn  credits for course completion.
Students at C2 level and native speakersThe C1 exam may be deemed  passed on presenting  a recognised language certificate or a foreign  (English) secondary school-leaving certificate and delivering an academic presentation. 

A course of English at C2 level or another language is to be attended until all the remaining free credit hours have been used.
